Addie has been into picking out her outfits lately. Blue jeans apparantly have NO place in her life. She can't stand to wear them....dresses and skirts ONLY please, even if it's 50 degrees outside.

This past weekend, we were all sick. Here's the rundown:

Daddy ~ sore throat

Mommy ~ Mastitis

Carlie ~ tummy ache

Addie ~ ear infection, fever, swollen left eye (and now the right one!)

Gabe ~ PERFECTLY HEALTHY!

So, needless to say, we were "in" most of the week just doin' life!

I've had lots of time to cook and after a wonderful spaghetti bake earlier in the week, I decided to lighten things up a little. So, I boiled these:

Speaking of homemade, I have a friend working on my sewing machine in hopes I can put together some goodies for the kids this Spring! We'll see!

Ugggg....I have Mastitis. For all you sisters out there who have nursed and lived through Mastitis, you completely get it. For those who haven't, be glad you're not familiar with it. It's a pain....literally. I had it twice with Addie and now with this little guy. Fever, headache, and one heck of a sore boob! Sorry ~ TMI? Well, it's the truth! But, I press on. It's a dot on the timeline. In less than 24 hours, I'll probably be as good as new and won't even be thinking about the boob that feels like it got sucker punched. It will be on to something else. Let's face it....three kids ages 3 and under doesn't leave much time to sulk! Isn't he so sweet? He's almost asleep in this picture, trying to get there. Ahhhh, here's to feeling better! Lately, Gabe has been smiling at us. Ummmm, were you aware of how much I completely LOVE newborns? The innocence and the love that comes from these tiny, little, miracles are enough to make me melt. Guess you already knew that, since I keep having them....

Incredible weather this week ~ the girls have had a blast outside riding bikes and scooters! I know, I know...Carlie doesn't really have the "I'm having a blast" smile in this pic, but she really was having fun!

I have been very careful to keep Gabe away from all of the lovely, winter germs floating around, but we have had a few friends over to play here and there. Our friends have been amazing over the past five weeks. Just this week, we had dinner delivered, a gift, and a cake and cookie bars from three different people!

Yes, our house is a mess. Yes, Addie is wearing a snow hat in 75 degree weather. Yes, Carlie and Addie are "dressed up" in a nightgown over her clothes. This is our "normal", thank you very much.

Even though we have been spoiled rotten with food from friends, I have been hanging out in the kitchen a little myself! Wednesday night, we enjoyed a homemade chicken-bacon ranch pizza! Fabulous way to get those extra mommy pounds off....ahem.....

Gabriel turned 5 weeks old this week. I repeat, Gabe turned FIVE WEEKS OLD THIS WEEK! Wow.

Addie painted a picture of our family ~ I was pretty impressed!

How many blog posts have I composed about Addie and Carlie dressing up? It doesn't matter what size, season, color, or style. If it's something new, they WILL have it on, in a flat two minutes. Today, I was sorting through their closets and storage bins, and it turned into a fashion show. Want to see? Well, you have to read the rest of the post before you get to the picture! Here we go:

Ahhhh, life: Hectic, challenging. We are in the very eye of the newborn/toddler tornado. We're tired and some days, just staying afloat. I mean, really....let's call it what it is and it's not always sweet and easy. The house is not always clean, my hair is in a ponytail, and I feel extra sassy if I have on mascara. There are days when I don't feel equipped to do the task at hand. The whole, "Lord, are you sure I can handle three children, ages three and under? Me? Must be another Shelly and Brad, right?" starts up!

BUT, quickly, I am reminded that our amazingly perfect Lord, equips us for every job He calls us to do. I go to Him 10, 20, 100 times a day. His grace overwhelms me. I see His grace in the sweetness and innocence of our children. I see it when that next dinner shows up at our door. I see it when my husband so willingly gets up with me to nurse the baby in the wee hours of the morning. I see it when Addie and Carlie choose to read a devotion before naptime out of their bible, that speaks directly to me. He is with us at every moment of the day and His grace is constant. He quiets my mind and heart, reminding me that He has me, right where He wants me. Even in what seems like small tasks (i.e. changing diapers, picking up toys, cleaning dishes..etc), I can do and should do everything to His glory. Changing that tenth diaper of the morning, is exactly what I should be doing! He is with me in everything I do.

So, when I hear:

"You've got your hands full" (I hear it all the time)..... I think to myself: "My heart and the love in our home are more full."

"Now that you have your boy, you're done, right?"...I think to myself, "I will obey whatever calling the Lord has in store for me. We will wait and see what His plans are for our future."

"Don't you need some 'ME time'?"....I think to myself, "This is a season and those days will come. For now, there is nowhere else I would rather be, than doing what I am doing, because I AM equipped by Him to do it."

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11)

"Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, Your faithfulness to the clouds."

(Psalm 36:5)

And, one of my personal favorites (I think about this one every time I play with Gabes precious little hairs on his head! "Why, even the hairs on your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows." (Luke 12:7)

So, back to that cute pic of the girls. Here ya go! Our house is hectic, but it is also wonderfully fabulous! It's joyful, fun, exciting, and full! Indeed, I am exactly where I am supposed to be and I wouldn't trade a minute of it for anything...just look past my ponytail and stretch pants!

Growing Up

Our little Carlie is about to turn 2, and she is changing daily. She is an absolute ham! Carlie can love on you better than just about any child I know. We have watched her "melt" (as someone recently worded it) into the arms of so many people, offering the sweetest hug ever. She can also throw one of the loudest and longest fits you've ever seen, if things don't go quite the way she planned. She is an observer and then a do'er. She's rather fearless and is ready to try anything big sis Addie is into. She thinks Addie hung the moon herself and daddy isn't far behind! She is beautiful, both inside and out. She is learning, growing, and changing so quickly. Carlie Quin....our sweet, 2nd child ~ we love her so dearly!

After nap today, the girls played SO nicely together while I cooked dinner. When I asked Addie what they were playing, she told me that she had a "toy store" and Carlie was shopping there. Yes, there were toys EVERYWHERE and yes, I was tempted to start cleaning up quietly behind her when she wasn't looking, but then I remembered the joy in pretending. I thought about how fleeting these days of imaginative play really are, and I soaked up the mess happily and let them play until their hearts were content! And....what about Gabe? He's perfectly wonderful!

Kitchen Demolition and Goodbye's

Today, one of my top New Year's resolutions began, with the help of my sister! I am getting ORGANIZED in a big way! After all, I am a Thirty-One rep....I should be a pro at this stuff, right?

After a very long and "not so fun" pregnancy, the organization in our home took a back seat and we were needing help to get back on track. Natalie loves to organize (as a missionary, they have moved many times over the last 7 years!) and offered to spend her Saturday with us to do just that! Ok, so here's the thing....this is a pride-free post. Scroll down at your own risk because I am going to share with you, our messy cabinets and our kitchen once Natalie took EVERYTHING out today! Whew...this is a little painful! HA!

With the help of lots of tupperware, things began to happen!

Soooo....after emptying every cabinet, drawer, and closet in the kitchen and hallway, we finished our project around 4:00pm~ we started at 11:00am! I wish I could show you everything we did, but this post might start to bore you, so here's a peek at just a couple!

Natalie and her family are heading back to Alaska, so this was our day to say goodbye. I've been sad today to see them leave, but I'm so proud of them and what they are doing in AK ~ sharing the Word with those who may not hear otherwise. God is so great and this family knows it! They don't just share it, they live it. Safe travels, hugs and kisses, and much love to you all....we can't wait to see you again when you come back to SC!

Two Weeks!

Time sure does fly by when you're having fun! Gabriel is TWO WEEKS old today!? How is that possible? He is such a little treasure ~ eating and sleeping great! To be completely honest, we have had a very easy transition into having three babies. The girls are enjoying him, but also playing together, which makes life a lot less hectic. This time, there is no jealousy....just

lots of love! Gabe fits in perfectly!

In fact, life around here is pretty much "normal" these days. Lots of staying in, due to his young age, but that's ok! We have enjoyed the time together.

Who says you can't eat together as a family with a newborn? Gabe eats dinner with us every night! We have been OVERWHELMED with the amount of food that has come into this house, from friends! We have been blessed with a solid two weeks worth of food so far, and it seems to keep coming! I am humbled at the thoughtfulness of everyone and grateful for their

help and friendship.

Sweet Gabe has had lots of visitors this week! We have treasured everyone's time with us!

Christmas Eve

It's Christmas eve, and there are so many pictures I want to post just from the past few days. Lots of fun, lots of reflections with our girls, and many talks revolving around Jesus. It's HIS birthday and we are celebrating all weekend with church services, cake, and bible stories! As we wait for this sweet baby boy to join our family, I think of Mary and how she must of felt to carry our Savior in her tummy. Can you imagine? I love to read about the angel Gabriel telling

her of this good news and to think of how bright that star must have shone above them!

Addie was able to sit in "big church" with us tonight and it was wonderful......

When we came home, the girls opened one gift from each other and then one from

mommy and daddy!

Of course, we had to make sure Santa's reindeer were fed before his big arrival....

There sure is a lot of love within our four walls, and we feel more than blessed. Brad and I talked after church about how much the Lord has blessed us....just amazing.

Oh December, how I love you! It's already been such a fun month, and I can't believe we are going to be visited by Santa next week! Time flies when you're having fun. Ok, so what have we been up to? Well, last night, we took the girls to the Lights at the Zoo. This was SO MUCH FUN. Seriously....we had a blast. Oh, and yes, for those who have been and know about the "fair food" offered this year...I ate my weight in fried oreos!

Earlier in the day, we took a trip to DHEC and had baby boy's infant seat installed in the van. Ummm....why do I feel like I'm driving a bus now?

Since Addie moved to the back of the van, we thought it would be cool for her to have her VERY OWN Thirty-One bag in the car for books and toys! She was oh-so-proud of her new tote!

(She may very well be my future sales partner!)

We have had a very festive time at preschool this week too! Lots of candy, cupcakes, and presents. We love our school and feel so blessed to be there!

It's been a while since I posted about life in general, so here it goes:

I guess we should start with this sweet, little newborn who will make his appearance 7 weeks from today and we are a little crazy around here! When I say "his", does it still shock you? Brad and I can't wrap our brains around having a little boy! Joy, joy, JOY!!!

Carlie has been in rare form lately. She's 20 months old and has more spunk than I ever expected. She's in the throws of wanting her independence, yet wanting to be held most of the day. She's a mama and daddy's girl. She wants us both, but I must say...she LOVES her daddy! She loves to snack, laugh, read, and sit in laps. She can fuss with the best of them and wear those lungs out! She's her own little person, and we love her more than words can express.

We've hit the discipline pretty hard this week and standing firm on making sure we're correcting properly. It's no fun when these blue eyes look up with you with tears, but we know it's His way....the right way. Oh, she wore her first ponytail today. Ahhhhh, I could eat her up.

Is it really this dark when daddy gets home, now? I miss playing outside in the evenings, but nothing has changed when it comes to daddy coming home. The door is wide open and the girls are chomping at the bit to get their hugs (I am too!!)!

When am I going to learn to "just say no" when asked, "Mommy, can we get balloons today?"

We played this game and fought this fight MANY times today.

In my "WORK" news, let's just say I've taken on quite a job! I have several Thirty-One parties coming up, and many Christmas orders to get delivered. Last night, my dear friend Jenny and I, set up a table at our holiday Sip N' Shop and had a blast! Here is our table, FULL of Thirty-One goodies. Gosh, I love this company!

Poor Addie has been fighting a very painful ear infection this week. She's been quite a trooper though! As a result, we had to miss a friends' birthday party today. I LOVE this time of year. The cool breeze, the pumpkin decorations, and the baking, make for a wonderful Fall! Mom and dad came over today and brought us lunch, which allowed me to get off of my feet for a little while. Today starts week #29 and I'm feeling every day of it! So, for a fun activity, the girls and I bought a Halloween cake mix and icing to make with Mimi.

Addie had a blast!

Why did I say "Addie had a blast" and not BOTH girls? Well, this little bug has been teething in a big way and wasn't 100% today. In fact, for the first time ever, she fell asleep in her feeding chair while eating lunch.

She napped during some of their visit, but still enjoyed time with Mimi and Granddad. Isn't she a precious little pumpkin though?!

Lately, Addie has decided she doesn't need a nap. She would rather conduct a "class at My Gym" with her friends in her bed, than sleep. Here's a pic of what her bed looked like two hours into

Lately, Carlie wants a sucker (aka: "ball") after every meal and is not camera shy in the least!

Lately, the girls have been into art and can actually do this together without much fussing. This is especially true, when it's on the wall! No more pictures of our wall now though, as a purple crayon left a pretty big mark!

We spent this morning enjoying one of the most convicting sermons at church I have heard in a while, about fearing the Lord and how He commands us to serve others. Brad and I both walked out of the church feeling empowered.....different.....energized. Amazing. Hmmmm, what else? Oh, did I mention that I went to my most favorite consignment sale....ahemmm.....TWICE this weekend for the 1/2 price days? Oh yes I did! By the way- I'm 25 weeks preggers in this picture and still going strong! Ok...back to the weekend: After naps today, we took the girls to Barnes and Nobles to play in the kids area and Brad is now playing basketball at the church. I'm winding down, preparing for a new week. I have two Thirty-One parties, so let's all say our prayers for two great nights with friends! God is so good. He is right here with us and gives us everything we need. He prepares us fully for every task, at every given moment. He holds us in the palm of His hand. WOW! Have a great week!

Addie had a wonderful Winnie the Pooh party at the park, for her third birthday! Ever since she saw the movie at the theater (her first movie!), she has asked about having this party! We had a wonderful morning with friends and family. Lots of swinging, sliding, cupcake eating, and gift opening. Addie, you are a joy. A light to so many people and we loved every second of your sweet party! We all love you so much!!

Last night, I faced one of the most difficult and heart breaking decisions of my life. My sweet and loyal Millie became tired, and we had a big decision on our hands. Back in 2001, while in Graduate School at USC, I got a wild hair one day and decided that I needed a dog! I walked into the Humane Society in Columbia, locked eyes with little 5 year old Millie, and that was it. I knew nothing about her, but I knew I loved her instantly. She was mine and we spent the next ten years together. Millie has been healthy all of her life. She never barked, didn't bite, and remained by my side year after year. She was a treasure, for sure. Last year, sweet Millie was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure and progressively, her health declined from that point, on. Last night, after many phone calls to the vet, lots of tears, and a painful 24 hours of watching her suffer, Brad and I made the decision that it was time for Millie to run in Heaven. We were by her side through the very short and peaceful process, and I am so thankful for that time. Before she passed away, my sweet Brad asked if I wanted to say a prayer together, so we did. I am so thankful for Brad...my rock, for sure.

God is amazing. His grace shines through at perfect times and He is forever faithful. Before we left the house, Addie had obviously noticed how upset mommy had been. I didn't want to hide my grief from her, as we strive to teach our children to feel all emotions that God has blessed them with. She and I talked about Heaven and how Millie would not be with us in the morning, but rather she would be in Heaven playing with other animals having a great time. We talked about how she would see Jesus. Addie cried, and hugged me in a way that I have never seen. I believe this was her first glimpse of understanding life and death, and although it broke my heart to see her sad, it was a wonderful lesson about God's faithfulness when we leave this earth.

Earlier in the night, when Brad was playing with Addie and Carlie and I was on the phone with our vet, Addie ran to get her bible, flung it open and exclaimed, "LOOK!". Brad looked at the page, and realized she had turned to the EXACT verse we had talked about in Sunday School yesterday about Paul's suffering. It was the same book of the bible (2 Corinthians) that holds my most favorite verse: "My grace is sufficient. My power is made perfect in weakness". We were floored. Out of all the pages, why those? Why did she get her bible in that moment? We know why. One word: God. There He was....right there, with us, showing us His grace and mercy through our own child. Thanks be to God!

Carlie's First Day!

Well, Carlie finally had her first day at preschool today! She was all smiles going in, until she was met with a child who was crying her sweet, little eyes out. Once she realized where we were, Carlie turned around and was ready to go back home! Sweet Mrs. Beth (filling in for Mrs. Stacey right now) gave her lots of hugs and made her feel right at home. She told me that Carlie did great, until.....the.....end. When I went inside to pick her up at 11:00, she was all tears. We'll try again on Thursday and hope for a better day.

Meanwhile, Addie and I enjoyed a date at Brueggars, a trip to Publix (to get birthday cupcakes!), and shopping at Books-A-Million! I think Addie enjoyed her morning with mommy!

Addie's Preschool Open House

That's right! Miss Carlie had her preschool open house this morning and mommy was a little hesitant about her baby starting in school this year! I mean, she's my BABY, right? Well, Brad is quick to remind me that Addie started preschool the week she turned one, and we had only positive outcomes from her experience there. She learned to share, take turns, sit quietly during circle time, and to respect authority. Addie would come home and we would be amazed with what she had learned. So, if Addie can benefit greatly at 12 months old, we feel absolutely sure that Carlie will thrive, at almost 18 months old! What can I say? Carlie bug is my babygirl and I just adore her!

I know everyone at the school will too!!

Thirty-One!

I DID IT! I finally signed up as a Thirty-One consultant, after many conversations and much prayer. Ultimately, I would love to combine my Usborne Children's Books business with my Thirty-One sales, as potential gift ideas. Why not pair an adorable book bag or lunch tote, with a "Back to School Sticker Book"? But, for right now, I am going to concentrate on Thirty-One: learn the ropes, host some parties, share with friends. This company "had me at hello" last year when I attended my first party, but the timing wasn't right. Well, the timing is great now and I'm ready to jump in! Ever heard the saying, "Your inbox will never be empty"? Well, that's the way I feel about my laundry basket. I do laundry CONSTANTLY! In fact, it's a joke with Brad. He says, I'm the only person in the world who can have an outfit, worn that day, washed, dried, folded, and back in the drawer before that person goes to bed. It's a chore I love. I love fresh sheets, fresh towels, and fresh clothes! BUT, it's constant and I have no idea how it piles up so quickly!! So, while I'm in my nesting phase, the girls and I are going to clean house and empty that basket!

What Happened to Simple?

Call it nesting....call it purging....call it making room. I call it NECESSARY! We simply have tooooooo much stuff and I'm ready to get back to good ole' simple. So, today the girls and I stayed at home, took out EVERY toy in our house and started boxing up. Some toy boxes we will keep and enjoy, but others are on the way out the door. We simply don't need all of this "stuff". I want to live simply, being mindful of what we bring into our home. I want our girls to experience the joy of imagination and creativity and not just play with empty, plastic toys and gadgets. Today, we are doing a little cleaning house, packing up, snacking, watching Elmo, and starting a new process! Happy Friday!

It's a BOY!!!!

Last night, we found out that we were having a BOY at our very small, but fun, Gender Reveal Party! I had the best time planning for this night and once that cake arrived, we were ready to cut! Brad and I feel so blessed to be welcoming a baby boy into our family in December. I couldn't have written a better baby script for our family, if I had tried. God, in His perfect timing and perfect planning, has surprised us yet again!

The words from Jeremiah 29:11 continues to play in my head: "For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."

Ultrasound

After 1 1/2 hours at the doctor today, we FINALLY left with a SEALED envelope, stating the gender of sweet #3! The baby decided to curl up in a ball and not cooperate, during the first ultrasound. Thankfully, the tech agreed to let me drop back in, after meeting with the doctor, to try one more time. The second time, she knew immediately! In fact, she said: "I'm 100% sure I know what you're having. You can have my first born if I'm wrong!" So, once she handed me the envelope, I dropped it off at a friends house who has a cake business and tommorrow we will "reveal" the gender, with either a pink or blue cake!

More importantly, we had a perfect little heart, brain, spine, and kidneys. The baby looks great and so far, seems to be a healthy, bouncing, baby _____?? Feel free to take a guess! We have only had two people of everyone we have asked, to suggest this is going to be a girl. Family and friends are feeling somewhat blue this time. Brad is one of the two people that believes this is a girl, and I am really feeling rather boy'ish this go round'. We shall see! We can say it until we are "blue" (no pun intended!) in the face, but we really don't care either way. People will always think Brad is dying for a boy and I will always get the "three sisters would be amazing" comments, but the truth is the truth and the truth is that God knows what we need, better than anyone else and that is where we put our trust. We are just thankful for another healthy, little bundle of joy!

My bible study girls ROCK DA' HOUSE! They had a surprise baby shower for me and Shannon last night at Nonnah's and it was F-U-NNNN!!!!! Shannon is 32 weeks and I'm almost 18 weeks!These girls love em' some babies and have beautiful hearts for the Lord. I'm so blessed to be in a small group with each of them!

Weekend Review

Ahhh, another fabulous weekend with the Perkins clan! I love weekends, especially in the summer! Ok, where to begin? We'll start with Pooh Bear, a great place to start! We took the girls (yes, we braved it with both of them!) to their first, real movie on Saturday afternoon! We went to see Winnie the Pooh, and it was adorable. Addie had her purse and her snack and was ready to go! Carlie enjoyed the previews, part of the movie, her snack and walking in the lobby!

When we got home, we grilled out: marinated chicken and veggies and made homemade mashed potatoes!

Let's back up to Saturday morning. Our good friends, Lily and Charlotte celebrated their birthdays together with a Candyland Party! We had a great time!

Sunday night, Brad and I had a wonderful babysitter keep the girls so that we could have date night! One of Addie's dance teachers came over and they had a blast. Meanwhile, we were enjoying Bang Bang shrimp at Bonefish Grill!

Our Week

This week, Addie had her final camp of the summer! It's hard to believe that this little girl has already enjoyed three camps this summer! Her preschool offered a summer camp this week, with the theme being: zoo animals. Needless to say, she loved it. As Addie has enjoyed a fun week with friends, Miss Carlie has not had that great of a week. She is fighting through a viral throat infection, with a 103 fever. Wonder who will get it next......

We had such a nice, calm, relaxing weekend. No set plans, nothing pressing ~ just a weekend full of family fun. We spent Saturday morning picking almost 6 pounds of blueberries and then we headed to the zoo with the girls! Today, we had another wonderful church service and Sunday School class. Sundays have quickly become my most favorite day of the week. We look foward to seeing our friends, and being in fellowship among other believers. I wrote a bible verse on my facebook page just the other day: "Because of the LORD's great love, we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness"(Lamentations 3:22-23). Guess what hymn was sung at church today? "Great is Thy Faithfulness"! Don't you just love it when that happens?

The girls are doing wonderfully during their time in church nursery/Sunday School. There was a time in the not so' distant past, when Carlie would cry as soon as we walked away. She would cling to the nursery teachers and want to be held the whole morning. Brad and I decided to continue leaving her and knew that eventually Carlie would be able to easily let go of mommy and daddy. We felt she was too young to sit in "big church" and she needs to learn that we WILL come back! Well, she has mastered her goal! She happily goes to Mrs. Anne each Sunday, plays alone and with friends, with no tears, and hangs out for the full two or more hours we are there. I'm so proud of that little girl!

Speaking of Carlie, we found her in an interesting "way" before we went to bed last night. You'll notice in the last pictures, that her pj's just weren't quite right! Those pictures were taken around 11:00pm (as you can see, she looked up at us like we were nuts for taking her picture!). Anyway, we put her arm back through and off to sleep she went. Well, wouldn't you know that she woke up that way at 6:30am this morning AGAIN? She cracks us up! Enjoy the pics from our weekend. We hope you all have a safe and blessed weekend too!

Saying Goodbye

Today was Addie's last day at dance camp and quite honestly, we were all a little sad. This is the first time, she has been dropped off somewhere five days in a row, for three hours a day. She learned so much and met some wonderful friends, both young and old. Her teachers were just AMAZING. I can't speak highly enough about each of them. It was a great week indeed.....

Two more of her teachers....the one on the right is also named Addie!

Speaking of Addie, her teacher ~ we were able to watch her do a solo dance to "How He Loves You", by the David Crowder Band, today after camp. The emphasis on the Lord this week at camp, has been overwhelming. The songs, the bible studies, the praise music....priceless. We are so thankful for this sweet experience she enjoyed this week.

We have had a full week of dancing!! Addie attended the "Baby Camp" at Turning Point Christian Dance this week. She's there now (as I type) and will be there through tommorrow. This camp has been amazing! The girls have been busy with ballet, tap, tumbling, crafts, singing, snacks, and even a bible study to start their day! Mommy and Carlie have enjoyed some quiet mornings to nap and run errands, knowing big sis was in great hands. Enjoy the pictures!

Sweet Little Feet

Brad took this Instagram picture of Addie's little feet, in her ballet shoes today. Even though the picture isn't great when it's blown up, I still want to remember how tiny those little dancing feet were, the day before day #1, of dance camp. We don't know if Addie will start a dance class this Fall or if she'll be interested in another activity. Who knows...we shall see! All I know in this moment, is that she is very excited about this sweet, little camp this week. When we talked with the director of this Christian dance company, she told us that her business was a ministry. She's a believer, and we felt very comfortable there. They dance to praise music ~ how neat! For all you prayer warriors out there who read my blog, please say an extra prayer for Addie this week...that she rests in the peace of being in good hands and that she finds joy in a week full of dancing and fellowship!

Let's see....what's new over here? Well, this week we had a fun (and hot!) park day with friends, including a hotdog picnic!

Carlie was lovin' on some watermelon that day!

These two have become extremely close. I caught Addie pushing Carlie, very gently, on the swing that day. They're pretty tight and it makes me ohhhhhh so happy!

Anyone need a Fisher Price, Grow With Me Kitchen? We're selling ours! We have loved on this kitchen for two years now and have enjoyed many "baking experiences" with it! Let me know if you're interested in it for your children or for a gift!

Finally, Miss Addie is preparing for dance camp next week! She is over the moon at the thought of dancing at camp. Thanks to my friends, Renee and Amanda, she had a few outfits to try on today while preparing! I'm sure there will be many camp posts next week!

Our day in a nutshell:

Daddy heads to work and Mommy jumps in the car with the kiddo's at 8:00am for a trip to the Upstate to see friends and family. We arrive at mom's house at 9:30am, change a diaper, drop off Carlie for a day with Mimi and Granddad and jump back in the car with Addie. Addie and I arrive in Greenville at my friend Liz's house for a playdate at 10:45am......

My friend Nancy.....friends since birth and still going strong. Our birthdays are one day apart and we have always been close. Check out that tummy of mine ~ 14 weeks today! (ahem...or as I like to tell people, "I've just started week #15!" Let's always move FOWARD in pregnancy!!)

At 12:00pm, the kids had lunch. Thanks Liz!!

My sweet friend Liz, with the girls. We've been friends since high school (I think we met in 1992), roomed all four years together in college (we graduated from PC in 1998...wow, that was a while ago!), and have never lost touch!

Back in Laurens to pick up Carlie and visit with Mimi Brown, at 4:00pm. Addie had a blast "organizing" her candy basket and Carlie loved walking around and around her room!

At 5:40pm, as we're pulling into Lexington, I make a quick "no supper at home" call to Brad and we find ourselves eating dinner at Casa Linda's. Ummm, we're a little crazy at this point!

All of the sudden, in walks our friends, Hope and Rick and their sweet girls. I've known Hope and Rick since college and am so thankful they live close by. Hope and I are in bible study together and have really grown as friends in so many ways. Next thing ya know, we're having dinner together and having a great time!

It's now 6:50 and we're finally arriving home, with this beautiful cloud above us. Only one last thing to do before settling in tonight....

...use the last of the blueberries that we picked this week, and make a homemade coffee cake for breakfast tommorrow. My sister sent me this recipe and even though it's not a great picture, it's REALLLLLY GOOD!! Ahhh, good night!

Summer List

I have a list. It consists of summer to-do's and I'm starting to check some things off! I have some fun things on my list, such as: read at least 3 books for FUN (no parenting magazines, parenting books, or "how to's"....rather, books that I choose for myself, for fun), lots of day trips with our family (you've seen some of these already on my blog), framing family pictures for our home, church activities, and a few inexpensive house projects. Of course, I always have new recipes I want to try too! We will find out the sex of our precious third child in August, so I'm sure some nursery prep will begin as soon as we know!

Now, to get to the "not so fun" parts of the list: cleaning out and cleaning up the house, one room at a time. Some may call it nesting, some may call it a to-do list. Either way, it's a work in progress and has to be done! In preparation for this sweet, new life arriving at the end of this year (can you tell I'm super excited?!), we have started in our closet and will move on from there. Let the fun begin!

Lots of the closet work happens when Carlie is taking her morning nap. Addie usually hangs out in mommy's bed and reads books!

Ok, now back to the fun stuff! Daddy took the morning off today, and we headed out to pick blueberries. It was SO much fun ~ HOT, but fun! Carlie ate all of the ones she picked!
