Good Morning Miss 11 Month Old!

Our little Carlie is 11 months old today. She is always ready to play with her dollhouse and kitchen toys in the morning- so sweet, so refreshed after a good night's sleep. There was something special about her "look" this morning. Those cute little cloud pj's that Addie used to wear, the morning sun on her face- precious. To celebrate her 11 month birthday (ok, not really....it just happened to fall on the same day!), we picked up SIX free Brueggar's bagles this morning! Happy Birthday to Brueggars! Brad and I both signed up for their emails, and received two coupons for 3 free bagels each! Whoo hoo!! We love you Carlie Quin!

Cookin'

Poor Addie. She is still running a low-grade fever (very low compared to what it's been), with lots of congestion, coughing, and a runny nose. She just can't shake it. Can you feel the pain in this picture? What a LONG 5 days it's been around our house! Now Carlie's nose is running, but she's fever-free and still smiling. She's such a happy child! Other than blowing noses and going stir crazy, I've been cooking. We went to an oyster roast last night (ahhh.....adult conversation? Almost forgot how!) and had a blast with old friends and met new ones. I took a DEEEE-LISH Honey Bun Cake- got the recipe from a friend's friend's blog. Did that make sense? You NEED this recipe, trust me. Leave a comment if you want it. It was seriously, amazingly, wonderfully good. Today, I'm baking pepperoni cheese bread in my bread maker and served up a homemade squash casserole for lunch (note the squash in Carlie's mouth above). We bought the squash at Four Oak Farms (I heart that place). I really love to cook. I find it to be therapeutic and ensures for great family memories around our table. Ok, off to "Buy Buy Baby" for a humidifier, formula, and a mattress cover (and hopefully nothing else!).

The Crud

Carlie will be 11....ELEVEN....that's right, E-L-E-V-E-N months old next week. Ummm, where did the time go? Is it really possible that we are about to celebrate this child's birthday? I can't believe it.

 In other news, Addie has "the Crud". We just left Dr. Cope's office and that's what he said- "She has the Crud". Negative for flu, RSV...etc. She's just living with the "Crud" and it will pass. I hope it leaves this house sooner rather than later!

 She's so puny this week. It's sad to watch this little girl mope around. Just a few days ago, she was outside in the BEAUTIFUL weather with one of her friends playing (we don't know what they were playing, but all creative juices were flowing!). Now, we're stuck inside, feeling yucky, trying to stay warm, and pouting. This too shall pass.....

Poor Addie....102.9 fever and a cough here and there. Winter, we are ready for you to say goodbye! During our fun little lunch with friends yesterday (see my last post), I knew something was "off" with Addie. Now, let me preface this next comment by saying, I'm not one of those mommy's that sugarcoats her 2 1/2 year old's poor behavior. Let's face it- we are in the middle of 2's and there are moments of pure craziness at our house! BUT, she is not typically a whiner. She fusses.....she can scream louder than anyone I know, but she doesn't typically "whine". Well, she whined throughout the entire lunch at my friends' house yesterday. At first, I thought we were dealing with a potty issue, but then the heat on her forehead told me a different story. Poor Ad's. No preschool, cold weather, pure boredom, and not feeling good can cause even the best little artist feel down in the dumps!
