Sweet Dreams

I can't think of anything more peaceful than my babies sleeping. As most of you already know, Addie dropped naps over a month ago. For some reason, she actually fell asleep today during her quiet time (literally, this is the first time in WEEKS!). I think it's so cute that they are napping in the same position!

Mickey Magic Show!!!

We were a LITTLE excited, before leaving the house
to see Mickey Magic today!

We're on our way! Look at my husband's new haircut...doesn't he look handsome? You know you have a great daddy, when he can proudly carry the Diaper Dude to go see Mickey!
I love that man!

Our sweet girls by the fountain before the show. Ok, look at Carlie....is she REALLY going to be ONE YEAR old in 2 weeks? She is growing way too fast for us!

Good call on wearing the princess shoes. All of the princesses were in the show! You can only imagine Addie's big eyes when she saw them on stage!

How did Carlie do for 1 1/2 hours sitting in daddy's lap? WONDERFULLY!! She loved it and I'm not just saying that to make this blog "cute" (ha!). She really loved it. She clapped and stared at that stage the ENTIRE time. We are so glad that she was able to enjoy it as much as we did!

 Dinner downtown, after the show!

A great family day, making wonderful memories together!

Surprise!

This little girl has no idea where she and big sis are going today! Here's a little hint: http://www.disney.go.com/disneylive/mickeysmagicshow/

Zoo, Sunshine, and Old Friends

My best friend Liz came into town on Tuesday with her PRECIOUS kiddo's! Liz is Addie and Carlie's "God-Mommy" as we call her. It was awesome to see them! We skipped school and headed to the zoo! Oh, I must tell you that Addie came out of her room with her princess necklace and bracelet on (thanks again Mimi and Granddad!), threw her hands in the air, and announced, "I'm ready for the zoo now!" Come back soon Lizzy....we miss you guys!

Enhanced Pacifier

The ole' sippy cup is NOT going well. Carlie doesn't get it. We've tried the cup with the straw, all kinds of sippies, pulling the plug and letting it run all over her......you name it, we've done it. It's not going well. Dr. C assures me that she will not attend the prom unable to drink from a cup. In other words, there are "bigger fish to fry" (in the words of my dad) then a silly cup. I guess for now, we'll just use the cup as an enormous pacifier and move on.

Comfort Food

Ahhhhhh, I walk into our house from the zoo this morning, to the smell of our crockpot!! Inside, there is a gigantic roast, new potatoes, organic carrots, and onions with all kinds of seasonings and a gravy in the making! It's comfort food at it's best. We need some "comfort" tonight. Today would have been Brad's dad's birthday. It's always a sad day for him, as he lost his dad 12 years ago. We layed in bed last night talking about all kinds of "stuff" until midnight. We talked about heaven, about how how his dad would feel about certain things if he were here today. The world has changed in the last 12 years and so has Brad. He's now a father, a husband, and an amazing man. Brad's father would be proud of who he has become. There are people in this world who resist the process of growing up and the changes that might come along with that process. They like things the way they always have been. They have their minds set in one direction and that's the only direction they are willing to travel. They are proud. Brad is not that guy. He is ready to grow.  He is changing and using his gifts in different ways now, and it's awesome to watch. In fact, on the way to Charlotte this weekend, he said to me, that we are really starting to focus on what matters. He was speaking about the Lord's Will for our lives. We have been diligently praying for His Will and have left some pretty big decisions up to Him recently. I'm so proud of my husband. When he walks in the door from work, we all light up! Yep, we'll eat our "comfort food" tonight and praise God for the time Brad had with his dad here on earth. He will look foward to meeting him again, face to face one day, in the presence of our Almighty Father.

Discovery Place- A Day in Charlotte!

Brad and I took a day trip with the girls to Charlotte, NC on Saturday! We had an amazing time at Discovery Place- a place Brad visited when he was young! We ended the day with dinner in Southpark mall (Addie enjoyed a cupcake for dinner~ she had a great time on our getaway!). We are ready to jump in the car for another road trip soon!

Bottle Her Up

I want to bottle this little girl up right now and just stay in this very moment. Addie had one awesome week! She feels good, she's eating well, she's happy, she's helping....the list goes on and on. Is this little 2 1/2 year old perfect? Of course not! Privledges have been taken and time outs administered. I've lost my cool and she's lost hers. God didn't create us to be perfect, but she's had a pretty awesome week. After that loooooong fever virus thingie (a.k.a.: the Crud) plus a week to recoup, she's back on track! She even ate cheese sticks and yogurt this week! Ok, this accomplishment may not sound exciting to you, but for those of you who know her well, this is a small miracle! Addie has loved helping mommy this week- recycle, do laundry, and clean up toys. She's left time-outs this week with a good attitude and lots of "I'm sorry's"- of course, the "I'm sorry's" are a requirement to be removed from time-out, but it's her heart I'm referring to. Tonight, when Brad asked her what she wanted to "think about" before bed (we always leave her room at night with something to think about), she looked at Brad and said, "God". Indeed, she has a 2 1/2 year old understanding of the Lord and our bible studies, but her spirit is just amazing to us! Who knows what a 2 1/2 year old understanding of the Lord even is? We can't even begin to guess how God enters the hearts and minds of children. They can be so wise at times and teach us so much. I just want to bottle her up right now and savor each moment!

Introducing

...the newest Brueggar's breakfast club. Baby Evan was there too, but he was busy eating his breakfast! It wasn't THAT long ago, when Lily and Addie were sitting in those seats and Miss Emma Jane was riding in that stroller. "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. -Jeremiah 29:11

Bootiful Day!

Addie and Carlie had a great day with her sweet friend, Emma Jane, at her neighborhood playground. On the way home, Addie was looking quietly out her window and said, "It's a bootiful day today". You are right....it is a BOOTIFUL day! Spring is on it's way!
